Jody was born & raised in Roosendaal.
“This is my home, my town, Tullepetoan, my connection and my love. Roosendaal is our ‘little town’. We all know each other in this small place that feels like one big village. This is a place of connection; between Rotterdam and Antwerp. Between Vlissingen and Den Bosch. Amsterdam and Brussels… and so on. A place for meeting. Close to the station and next to various motorways.”
Connecting, meeting, and bringing people together—that is what Jody and her team strive for every day at The Rosendale. They do it with partners and suppliers from the region, and with a love for hospitality and their guests.

Our history
1915
A hotel has stood on this site since 1915. For around 70 years, the Goderie family ran the hotel under their own name.
1982
In this year, the Cremers family took over, introducing a thematic design inspired by international trains, reflecting the nearby Roosendaal station.
1987
The hotel joined the Best Western chain, becoming Best Western City Hotel Goderie, to gain international recognition.
1998
Guillaume and Antoinette Cremers took over the hotel.
2020
Rob de Weerd & Jody Mekes purchased the hotel. In 2021, they rebranded it as The Rosendale—a welcoming place centered on connecting, meeting, staying, and togetherness.
